
Maryanne Murphy
Maryanne Murphy, DVM, PhD, DACVIM (Nutrition), is a board-certified veterinary nutritionist® and Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Tennessee, where she also serves as Chief of the Veterinary Nutrition Service.
She earned her DVM from Iowa State University and completed both her nutrition residency and PhD at the University of Tennessee, focusing on energy metabolism and satiety in lean and obese dogs. Dr. Murphy has worked in academic and private practice settings and has authored textbook chapters, peer-reviewed publications, and co-edited Obesity in the Dog and Cat. She has presented over 50 continuing education lectures nationally and internationally on topics including obesity, gastrointestinal disease, and pet food evaluation. Her work focuses on helping veterinarians apply nutrition effectively in clinical practice.
